You Kept My Heart Alive

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. – Philippians 4:13

This morning, I listened to a song called “For My Good” by Maverick City Music, featuring Todd Galberth, Naomi Raine, and Chandler Moore. The song has a hopeful and uplifting message that feels perfect for the closing of the old year and the start of the new year.

As we enter the new year, we can’t help but reflect on the journey through 2023, a year weaved with highs and lows with joys and challenges. Through it all, one thing remained constant—the unwavering presence of God in our lives—the steadfast love of Jesus Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

God’s grace kept our hearts alive when the world seemed chaotic, and our paths veered into uncertainty and disappointment. Each struggle we faced was not just an obstacle but a stepping stone, paving our way to a deeper understanding of faith and resilience.

As we embrace 2024, let’s carry the lessons learned and the strength gained. God’s hand in our lives will continue to turn our trials into testimonies. We must remember that even in our weakest moments, we are not alone. Our presence here today is a testament to God’s promise—that everything works together for our good.

Hold onto the hope and joy of trusting God’s plan this year. Be grateful for His love and support as we embrace new opportunities that await. Our life story is an ongoing process, and with God, every chapter is full of potential, purpose, and prosperity.

Isaiah 43:19 reminds us that God is constantly working in our lives, paving the way for new opportunities even when we might not immediately recognize them.

Philippians 4:6–7 encourages us to approach our hopes and challenges with prayer and gratitude so that peace protects our hearts and minds. We can trust that God knows and cares about our concerns and ambitions.

Jeremiah 29:11 informs us that as we plan for the year, remember that God has plans for us, too—plans filled with hope and purpose. This verse encourages us to look forward optimistically, knowing that our future is in His hands.

Many years ago, this verse became an anchor after I experienced tragedy and feared what the day would bring. With its message, I felt comforted and could continue life’s journey, believing God had good things planned for my future.

Proverbs 16:3 tells us to dedicate the goals and resolutions we set for ourselves this year to the Lord. When we align our efforts with His will, our paths become more apparent and our endeavors more meaningful.

May this year be one where we see the fulfillment of God’s promises in our lives as we grow in our faith and walk closer to Him.

As we welcome 2024, let’s embrace it with faith, hope, and love. We know that God can keep our hearts alive—the past has taught us this.

Happy New Year! Here’s to a blessed, prosperous, and joy-filled 2024!

God bless. . . I am Wiley’s granddaughter.
